How to care for your new mattress
To get the best out of your mattress and ensure optimal performance, please follow our care tips below.
Protecting your mattress
It is recommended that your new mattress be always fitted with a high-quality mattress protector to protect your mattress from stains and soiling. Mattress stains may void your mattress warranty as stains and moisture prematurely age the mattress foam content.
Rotating your mattress
To ensure maximum mattress performance, you should equalize body signatures, which is achieved by rotating your mattress. Rotate your mattress from end to end every 90 days and more regularly for the first three months.
Handling your mattress
Mattresses are bulky, we always recommend two people carry them. However, please note that
the mattress handles serve as a mattress rotation aid, not a mattress transport lifting aid.
Cleaning your mattress
While all our fabrics and foams are treated against mould, mildew and dust mites, we recommend that you vacuum your mattress periodically to help remove any dust mites that may cause allergies. Refer to the warranty and care tag which is attached to your mattress for instructions.
Using a level mattress base
If your new mattress is to be used on a slat base, please be aware of these three important
points.
1. Gaps between slats should not exceed 70mm.
2. Timber slats must be covered to protect the mattress cover from wear, ask your retailer for details.
3. Bed base slats must remain level. This mattress is not to be used with curved slats unless an Oscar Living ‘NoBow’ mattress base board is also used.
Body signature
Your body signature is the impression that your body makes on the surface comfort layers of the
mattress. It is a sign that the mattress is conforming to your body. Please be aware that it can
take up to 30 days, or more, for your body and mattress to adjust to the feel and support of the
new sleep system. A new mattress may feel firmer than you expected during this settling in
period. A body impression of up to 35mm is considered a normal occurrence.
Warranty Timeframes
MATTRESS 5-year warranty on material and workmanship, excluding general wear and tear.
